We were the first producers in Canada to utilize ultrasound technology beginning in 1989. We collected a lot of data from our young bulls, but had no other place to compare them with. At that time Rito 2100 was the #1 carcass bull in the USA, so we used some semen and compared his genetics to the cattle we had. We found the Rito 2100 cattle were comparable with our own cattle - a bit ahead.

These results gave us a lot of confidence in our cow herds. Rito 2100 sired two great bulls for us. One was Johnston 2100 Tradition 485Y - a great bull used at Saskalta. The other was Johnston 2100 Bardolene 554Y. This bull was used at Double AA. These two bulls have had tremendous impact on the Rancher's Choice cow herds. There are sons, grandsons, great grandsons, daughters, granddaughters and great grand daughters working in our herds.
